Default Credit Rapid Rescoring?

After checking my credit I noticed some errors on my credit report. I'm worried because I want to buy a car soon and need to improve my credit score. I know if I get rid of these errors I will be put in top tier credit. I went to the credit bureau sites for a dispute form you can fill out, but from what I can understand it can take up to one month to make the fixes. I don't have one month. I hear there is rapid rescoring available. I saw them on different web sites. I guess you pay a fee and within 72 hours those adjustments will be made to your report and should raise your FICO score. Has anyone tried this to make recommendations? There seem to be many companies on the web, but I judge by the cover when it comes to web sites and most seem vary amateur. Please help.

It sounds like a scam. How can some outside company possibly have any effect on a bureaucracy such as Experian, et al?

I think you should bring documentation to your dealer to prove that your score should be higher, and if that fails, try the same thing with a credit union, if you have access to one.

What exactly do you mean by errors? Wrong address, charge offs that aren't yours, late fees that aren't yours, etc?

Don't fall into the paying fee scams. All big three credit report agencies are under the law will investigate and correct, if it is needed, the errors within 30 days.

But it sounds like he wants it done faster, almost overnight, which isn't available.

I belive this expedites the process of updating your credit report. When I used to work for a mortgage broker, this was available through the company we obtained credit reports from (along with which items would benefit your score the most when paid off). For a fee, the credit bureaus would report the updated information much faster, rather than waiting a few months for your score to be updated.

Long story short, Rapid Rescore IS legit, overnight however is not possible, 72 hours mayyyyybe.

FICO is only one of your three scores...make sure to stay on top of all three.

FICO isn't one of the credit bureaus, it is the scoring system that is used by the three credit bureaus to determine your FICO score. The three credit bureaus are Equifax, Experian and TransUnion.

There is also a newer bureau, making it four. I don't remember the name though.
