Default Custom Holster for the S2000

Does anyone have something like this built for keeping a firearm in the car?

I was thinking of asking around to have something built for a small handgun. My ideal location would be next to the driver's right knee - a place where I can easily reach for it if ever needed (carjacking, whatever) I'm sure you know the location I am talking about, to the left of the CD player and right of my knee if the right leg is extended.

Does anybody have this?

Feedback appreciated.

Well first of all, I don't know the laws in PA, but in most states having a loaded firearm in the passenger area of a car requires a concealed weapons permit.

Second, I'd be very interested if anyone has one.

Yes, just applied for a permit last week. I was thinking a small gun to fit there. I wouldn't need a cannon 3 feet from the target.

yeah most states have sperate mandates for concealed carry and most involve a number of premeditated movements to get to and expose the weapon.... most also involve a loading stage as well...i think

concealed carry in cars is tricky

I have never found any type of holster for the S, although I put mine between the console and sealtbelt. It seems to work good without moving around and it is very easy to get to.

In Texas, you can carry it concealed WITHOUT a concealed carry permit (the car is considered an extension of your property). If you have it in the open in the car, you need a concealed carry permit. Go figure.

I saw my first pickup with a shotgun in the back window yesterday. Lots of guys have gunracks but that was the first I saw with an actual gun sitting there.

BTW, for the record.... if you're worried about car jacking, the gun should be kept next to the door, where you'd reach to get the door handle and exit the vehicle. This is where I (hypothetically, if I had a CCW) keep my gun.

In Florida...

With a Concealed Carry permit, you can have it in the car loaded (whether on your person or under a seat), as long as it is not easily visible.

Without a permit, you CAN have it in the car but it has to be "three steps away"

1. Unloaded
2. Holstered
3. Locked in a compartment

The aspect of your car being an extension of your home is accurate, IN THAT you have the right to feel secure in your vechile and can defend yourself with lethal force if someone is forcing their way into your car and you think your life is in danger.
