Yeah, and I'm glad I voted for him.
That's just about the most reasonable thing I've ever heard a politician say. And it sure beats what Clinton said that prompted Monica to say is "You want me to put the cigar where?"

The cars themselves aren't nearly as big a problem as those pension plans they're paying out the ass for. Kind of actually makes you feel bad for them. well, almost.
They should somehow find a way to cut that ball and chain. And de-unionize while they're at it too...
my favorite saying: GM is a pension company that just so happens to make cars...

so your point is what? That you're a pissed left wing nut that's crying
in the corner because the tool you voted for lost, so much so that you have to lie? He never said GM cars are ugly in this article, so WTF are you talking about?

While I don't agree w/Bush most of the time I do agree with his assumption that GM/Ford cars are not appealing and the market should be allowed to "function" AKA capitalism without corporate bail-outs. I think he is right on.

I hate Bush and the Democratic alternatives aren't very appealing either. However, his statements on the American Automobile industry are right. They need to come up with an innovative design and do some engineering homework to make a car that can compete with Japan and Germany. Last I heard, their quality is lacking also, its been a while since I've ridden in an American car.
again, I don't think the problem is with the cars. AFAIK, the cars are actually selling pretty well. the problem is that these "poor" companies can't seem to turn a profit in spite of the decent sales numbers. they need to cut the pension string and union benefits, and they need to do it yesterday.
