It seems that in the last few years, the general attitude toward marijuana has become friendlier in both Europe and Canda, but not in the USA. Anyone think we'll see it become legal or decriminalized in the USA anytime soon? I hope so, but am not holding my breath...

I don't know if they will ever decriminalize it, too many religious idiots and bureaucratic policies to overcome. The problem in both cases and especially it seems with the Jesus freaks is that you have to have "used" it to understand just how harmless it is to 99.99 percent of the population. Perhaps if it had the same political force as the alcohol industry

Thanks for the link Steve.
It was an interesting and amusing read...
I agree - people really don't understand how harmless it is to most responsible people unless they've personally used it or intimately know someone who does. Of course, once that happens, you've already been branded a criminal and drug abuser.
The thing that always strikes me as funny is that many people have this idealistic concept of what a "drug user" is like. Financially broke, lacking in motivation and ambition, always looking for a fix, etc., are often part of the image...when in reality, drug users are everywhere and don't always appear or act very differently from anyone else. Folks would be surprised to learn which of their acquaintances smoke weed or use other drugs. Unfortunately, in the anti-marijuana propaganda we see in the media, we always see the poor homeless guy who's in rehab, not the successful doctor who smokes just as much weed.

There's already a Marijuana Legalization Debate in the corner for those of you interested. Also, 100% sure bud is legal in Amsterdam
Hehe, yep, I have no doubts about it being legal in Amsterdam... =)
I've been meaning to head out there. I'm one of the few people I know who hasn't been there yet. Can't call myself a real smoker until I do. Have any of you guys gone?
