Del Sol Vtec
I had only had my Stook about a week when a sweet young thing came up and asked, "Is that the new del Sol convertible?" When I told her, "No." she opined that it was "cute" anyway. Gee, thanks!
I drove a VTEC Del Sol about 3 years ago. The dealership let me have it for the weekend.
The car is very cool. The way the engine revs to 8000 rpm reminds me a lot of the S2000, you just can't believe that you don't need to shift until the revs are way up.
Also, the trunk of the Del Sol is relatively large and it had 4 speakers.
My only complaint was the cowl shake, the car was not nearly as stiff as the S.
Stiffen up the Del Sol, add all-wheel drive, more horsepower, the feel of the S2k's transmission, and you'd have a kicka$$ car.
It truely would be a mini NSX...

Get the GSR 1.8L VTEC engine, and drop it into a non-VTEC del Sol, stiffen up and lower the suspension, shorten the throw on the shifter, get a stiffer clutch, maybe a JUN lightened flywheel, throw in a couple of strut bars, a tie bar.....you'd get a nice little performing number for less money than you'd imagine.
Would make me do this on a daily commute -->

It's funny, because the dealer kept telling me it's the same, the same. I looked at him and said I understand what your telling me, but the VTEC one is at 160HP and the Si with vtec has less HP. He looked at me and said, I think you are mistaken sir. I just walked away.
