The Dell Inspiron 8100 or the Inspiron 4100, which one should I get?

well, I ordered the 8100...

P III 866 mhz, SVGA+ 15'' monitor
30 gigs
DVD-Rom 8x
256 megs
16 meg NVidia 2 vid card

$1399

These are the basic specs, they should be fine for me.

Now anyone have advice on what type of carrying bag I should get?

btw, I already have a desktop 1.2 ghz Tbird, 512 megs DDR RAM, Voodoo 5, 80 gigs, Win2000, CD-RW & DVD-ROM, basically my playground oh yea, just got a wireless keyboard/mouse too, hehe.

The ultra probably won't be much use to you with the video card you chose. If you have extra money left in your budget I would suggest applying it to your memory or processor.

I have the 32mb card and I can tell the difference cause I can't go above 1400x1050 res. That is because of my LCD. I'm not sure if the 16mb video card would let you go above 1400x1050 anyway.

You can tell major difference between Ultra and Super. Watching DVD movies the Ultra is less pixelated. My dad is on Dell 8100 too but on Super, b/c that's what he received from his company, i run dvd's on both and for sure you can see major quality difference. I run 1600 resolution.

Yeah PM me for the ATI Radeon 64 DDR,
