Default Dell Laptop problems!

My laptop is no more than 4 months old and it's ****ed up!

It won't reboot 9 times out of 10 (I have to keep turning it off and on), and now it "ate" my profile (HDD error)!

POS Dell! I thought they were RELIABLE!

Rich,

Dell is our corporate standard and trust me, they are reliable. If you got a bad one call them up. Dell is good about fixing things and usually pretty damn quick. You can get a defective item from any company, even if they're the best. If not there wouldn't be warranties.

Mingster,

Dell was our corporate standard and I think that most of them are crap. On my laptop that is no more then two years old I have had the screen replaced once, the mother board twice, the keyboard twice, the hard drive once and the battery once (under the recall).

Now in fairness, the motherboard that they sent out on the second pass was because the first one did not solve the problem. Sometimes I think that their motto is to simply throw hardware at the problem.

I know several people that all have Dell and I can't think of one that has anything overly positive to say about them. Most of the opinions range from indifferent to not satisfied.

Now I will say this, I don't think that I have had any problems in the last six months and I use this thing every single day.

Richard,

Our company has had some problems with dell. I really like Toshiba. Not fond of Compaq, but Sony is not bad.

I did my time at Dell for 2.5 years. If you've got a problem with the box, call em up, or else, throw me a message and I can provide a few suggestions before giving them a ring.

24/7, and the late night crews are *always* much better than the day shifters in tech support.
