August 20th, 2001
5:58 AM Pulled into work just seconds before the office shows up for the mandatory 6:00 AM All Hands meeting.
I am first one there so when the bosses show up I am the good little trooper.
6:15 AM Meeting concludes. I manage to mention the one insignificant amount of work (maybe 10 minutes if I stretch it) I have to do today and make it sound like a feat worthy of Hercules.
6:15-8:30 AM Surf the board and other assorted websites of interest
8:30-8:40 AM Do my one little stupid documentation job for the day
8:40-10:00 AM Sneak off to use company VCR to dub an 8mm camcorder tape onto a VHS so I can mail it to my brother in Costa Rica. Camcorder battery wasn't charged enough.
10:00-11:15 AM More S2000 online and random goofing off
11:15 AM Sneak out with lunch crowd. Go to bank to get cash for upcoming Hawaiian vacation. Drop off dry cleaning. Stop by house to let the dogs out. Grab 2 PB&J sandwhiches while my camcorder battery recharges.
12:15 PM Back at work and resume dubbing VHS tape.
1:00 PM finish dubbing tape and raid Ships galley for free food and drinks.
1:15 PM Pack up VHS tape with company supplies.
1:30 PM Do a drive by of bosses offices to let them see me after lunch.
1:45 PM type this post and surf S2000 online some more.
2:30 PM hit post office on way home.
Whoo Hooo. Another thrilling day in the rocket biz. Somebody shoot me.

Wow, that is FAR more than I had going on today! I unboxed some CD's just now, that's about as productive as I have been today.

The 6:00 a.m meetings are insane. There's no way I'd be able to make that.
I remember the good old days of working for a defense company. Slacking off and doing my homework, when I was getting my MS degree.
