So a guy was trying to commit suicide. A fireman came to help and the guy fell to his death. Supposedly the fireman wasn't suppose to be there and now he's being grilled for the botched rescue. See the vid and decide... CHECK IT... It's big news now in SF!

that family needs to look within. The guy is a drug & alcohol abuser. The fire dept is gonna get the blame no matter what. It's easy to look back and analyze the situation after the fact but it's much harder during the actual event.
the sad thing is the owner of the building will very likely also be named in the lawsuit.

In Florida it's illegal to commit suicide (that obviously if you fail at it) and you can be arrested for it.

I beleive the fireman was trying to help... but he went about doing it the WRONG WAY! He should have talked to him and got him OFF the ledge.. not just scared him with a full on attack/grab. He messed up and probably did not follow procedure unless it is written like that.

BUT even if the guy did or didn't want to die, there was a reason why he was on that ledge and a reason he actually considered killing himself. He just probably chickened out at the last moment and then the fireman came up behind him could have thought the guy was trying to PUSH him over.

what a crock of shit, i feel sorry for the firefighter

if the guys going to sit up their and create a big deal about his life, he either wants to die or should die. how is anybody supposed to know hes not going to jump. if the guy didnt fall and the firefighter saved him he would be a hero. The family is gonna sue everyone becuase their brother died being a dumbass, if anything they should be paying the city for all the money they spent while this jackass sat up on the roof.

The SF Fire Chief should have gotten her story straight before releasing any information.

A lawsuit will follow, and the City will probably settle out of court with the family. What a waste of time and money.

the guy died while someone was trying to grab him. Something entirely different than the fireman pushing him.

All these experts weighing in should have been there, not armchair quarterbacking. If they weren't there, they should keep their mouths shut, IMHO. You can second guess any event in history with enough arrogance.

no matter what anyone says the fireman was definately wrong...the only reason the guy fell was bcs the fireman snuck up behind him and tried to grab him...and the fact that the SFFD lied about it makes it even worse

Doesnt anybody see that the guy is clearly not trying to hold onto the fireman. It definitely looks like hes trying to get away from the fireman. It looks like hes trying to pull himself away with his legs...

4 previous attempted suicides??? comon.. obviously hes trying to do something.

Its just a family trying to make some money from all this.

With that kind of suicidal history, how can ANYONE let alone the FAMILY say that he wasnt trying to kill himself??
