Default did someone bench press over 1,000 lbs recently?

I saw a blurb on TV yesterday about a guy benching over 1,000 lbs..... ?

The last time I heard, Ted Arcidi (something like that) benched over 700lbs and that was amazing! I am out of touch i guess.

anyone have link to the 1000lb bench? what did the guy weigh?

Do they take it down to 90 degrees? I seen that muscle kid on tv the other night and they were bragging what he could lift and then showed him doing half leg presses and benches

At once? I too would have shoulders that would disintegrate at the thought of lifting half that.

Nuts!

Gene upped the World Record once again this time to an amazing 975lb. This was done at the APF Steel City Classic in Pitsburgh Pa. on Oct. 16,2004

On Sunday November 21,2004 at the IPA Nationals
in Shomokin Dam, Pa
Big Gene Bench Pressed 1,005lbs
to become the first and only man to ever Bench over 1,000lbs

I'd play them in bloody knuckles though, but no arm wrestling!
