did you go to your college graduation?

I probably won't go simply because I'll have to buy the graduation rope. Around here they rape you in the ass with the cost of these, and I'll only get to wear it once. Not worth it.

do it so ur parents can take pictures and be happy.
i went to mine more for my family than myself.
I hate ceremony stuff like that.. I graduated early from high school and they almost didn't let early grads walk.. so I did that just for my parents, then in college I just picked up my diploma from the offices and walked out. I sat through my best friends sisters graduation and I wanted to shoot myself to end the agony.

I did a proper college graduation ceremony with my family, GF, and GF's parents. I felt priod at the time, A nice party afterward at our house, then a drunkfest with my fraternity brothers. I never gave a thought about graduation ceremonies for either of my graduate school degrees.
I went to mine. I flew back home from Texas (job interview the day prior), had my job offer waiting when I landed, graduated the next day, sold most of our big furniture and belongings and was on the road to Texas within a week.
I figured that if I put six years of my life into a degree (it was a co-op program so it took an extra two years), I probably needed to go to get my diploma. I also needed my diploma at the border for my work visa and that was the quickest way to get it in my hands. They had free food afterwards, too.

I didn't go to my college graduation. I didn't feel like paying, and It would have been a complete waste of time. I wouldn't have gotten my diploma until a month later anyway (they mailed them regardless), so whats the point?
I wouldn't have heard the end of it from my parents if I didn't go to my graduation. Although they had two ceremonies. One for the entire school and one for each individual college and major etc... I went to the smaller one where they actually call your name and the parents etc.. can cheer. The entire school one is just huge, boring, and normally very hot.
