Difference between a router and hub?
Hehe... I'll take a shot at an explaination too.
A hub is a stupid device - that is, it has no built-in intelligence to manage network traffic. All traffic to and from the hub just passes through it. It's fine for small networks.
A switch has some intelligence to be able to manage the network traffic. High-end switches can do lots of other things nowdays (VLAN, routing, etc.), but to keep it simple a switch essentially keeps traffic between computers physically connected to the switch on that switch. Once a network starts getting a lot of traffic, it'll need a switched network to keep from bogging down.

Hub - Dumb device. Broadcasts the signal to all ports within a network.
Switch - Smarter device. Only sends the signal to the port that needs it within a network.
Router - Smartest device. Only sends the signal to the network that needs it within a group of networks.
Think of the phone system as an example.
The hub is basically like your house. Incoming calls ring to all the phones connected to the line.
A switch is like a city. A call for you only rings at your house or your extension.
A router is like a state/country/world. If you want to call someone from city A to city B, a router determines how to best get from one city to the next one.
