Wireless internet ?
Ok, currently i have a desktop in my basement connected to the broadband router. now i have my own personal laptop, which is connected through the linkys wireless router that is tied into the broadband router.
now here is my question. my brother is going to be getting a laptop also so i will not have any use for the desktop. if i unplug the internet from the desktop and no longer use the desktop, will the internet still work through the broadband router that is tied into the linkys wireless router? if not, do i need another router just for wireless internet, and if so, which one?...Thanks......Frank

It's tough to know exactally what will happen without knowing your exact setup.
But, it sounds like you currently have no need for that broadband router. You should be able to go straight from your internet connection i.e. cable/dsl modem into the linksys and it should function just fine. Plug the desk top into and run both laptops wirelessly off of it or just the lap tops it should not make any difference at all.
Now if your routing your connection through the desktop prior to either router this maynot be the case. Like I said before, without knowing your setup it's hard to advise you without making assumptions.

ok i have the linkys wireless b broadband router that is connected to my cheap rca broadband router. the rca router has direct connection for the cable line, while the linkys system does not. it seems like i cant tie the cable into the linkys b/c it has no attachment for the cable line. the linkys # is: BEFW11S4

and as for the question, your internet will still be up, as long as the internet connection from your modem and router are not disconected.
