Uh no.. look at his approval ratings based on public polling. They are abysmal. High 60s to low 70% disapproval this entire year.

 

GWB got dealt a shit hand with all the things that have happened during his presidency and its easy to be the Monday morning quarterback and say where the mistakes were made. Like Keith said, he is the one in charge and it all falls on his lap even though other politicians regardless of party have been on his side for decisions. Some of the situations could have been handled differently but if he was in the WSOP - He got dealt a 2,7 offsuit.

 

This assumes that a lot of the shit that happened during his presidency wasn't a direct result of his ineptitude. I know you can't fault him for Katrina or 9/11 (although this is debatable depending on your belief in conspiracy theories), but his handling of both situations worsened already terrible events to the point of being a negative reflection on his presidency in general.

There will always be different ways to look at this depending on personal bias/partisan affiliation.

 

Politics is the only science where opinion becomes fact without proof. If you get enough people thinking the same way it must be correct. The most you can do is vote for who you think should lead and make decisions....or become a lobbyist

 

Lincoln was an unpopular president as well
