Digital Camera
Hi, all,
Can someone recommend a place on-line to purchase a digital camera, specifically, a Sony DSC-P9? I found some places that have dirt cheap prices, but was not sure how legit they are. If you have bought a camera on-line with good experience, please share the info.
Thanks for the help,
/Rog

Most of the places that have it dirt cheap, you will get more headaches then you bargain for. Trust me I spent a long time looking. They tell you they have it in stock but only if you purchase the camera with added features. Otherwise they have a wait. Meanwhile they already charged your credit card.
You can also check to see if dell has the camera you're looking for.

I've bought a couple cameras from them, usually good or great prices (don't get suckered into the add-on packages though), good turnaround time on orders. Just don't expect efficient service (order it online, make sure your info is 100% correct, and you'll be a-ok).

NEVER buy a camera online unless its from a authorized dealer. Not these "fall off the truck prices" places. They can/do break and the 100-200 you save won't matter when its a paperweight
Go with Olympus Camedia line.

I just got a Sony F-717 on Buydig.com. It was $852, I think and could not find it in any store where they would take less than full price of $999. I had a good experience.
I think the D9 is only 25 bucks cheaper (?) and for a slight bit more I would buy local so you can return it if problems and pick their brains if you need help.

Not sure if this is a popular site, but I found:
www.techbargains.com
where they listed a deal (coupon code required) of $50 off $500 at goodguys.com. Good Guys is a local chain like Best Buy and Circuit City, so I felt comfortable ordering from them. Plus there's no shipping and tax (go figure?), so it was a good deal.
Thanks for all the help and Happy New Year.

Yup..
I would definetly at least go to a local "Best Buy" and touch it and and get a feel for it, then go home and buy it online
