Default Digital camera suggestions?

I would like to get a digital camera. Any suggestions? How are the Sony cyber-shots?

Thanks in advance

Just bought a olympus D-40 about 2 weeks ago. I'm still tickled pink about takin a picture and immediately viewing it. Used it today to take pics of the car prior to shipping it. very easy to use and takes great photos.

Anyone know anything about the Sony CD - Mavica? Seems the most user friendly.

You have to give us your budget. I own the Sony DSC-F707 5 megapixel camera and love it, but it's not cheap!

I have a Sony Mavica which uses a 3.5 inch floppy for storage.... very user friendly, but rather a big camera.... definately not one to put in your pocket !!

Go with Sonys.

I have a Canon S20, it's alright for basic use. Sucks for night shot, but has a couple cool features. It's also discontinued. But get a camera that's good for night shot, or you'll regret it later.

I have a Sony Cybershot DSC-S75 and I love it. I've used it a lot in the 9 months I've had it and it's done a fantastic job. My uncle was amazed at the shots I took inside Hearst Castle where they don't allow flashes. Go to http://www.dpreview.com and read through some of the reviews on there. They have very thorough reviews on that site and you'll learn a lot about digital cameras just by reading through a few of them.

I've been pleased with my Nikon Coolpix 990. I'm thinking about upgrading to the Coolpix 5000 -- 5+ megapixels.

I think it was "THEGENERAL" or something that was describing digital cameras a week or so ago on this forum. Do a search. He claimed Olympus made the best - and his arguements seemed persuasive...
