LCD has caught up to plasma... plain and simple. when i bought the new samsung ToC, i thought it was a plasma because of that deep 3d picture feel... its a LCD. Absolutely georgeous picture. I tuned each tv i was interested in to compare pictures. LCD FTMFW!

whats wrong with my statement? do you know my background in electronics? lets just say the people at the store didn't like that i knew more than them, and made some of the cheaper tvs look better than the "higher end" ones. agree to dissagree.

Well, I don't believe an accurate comparison between performance can be make unless the sets are properly calibrated..something you're not going to be able to do standing in best buy.. And calibration results don't lie. Plasmas still have better contrast, better color accuracy, and better color saturation.. which are the three most important factors contributing to what the human eye sees as a "good picture."

I bought a Vizio LCD with 720P at Sam's a close to a year ago. We love it. I'm sure one day I'll get a BlueRay player and want a better set. Since, overall, I have more faith in LCD than in Plasma, I'll most likely stick with that.

it all depends on your budget, room lighting, room size, and preference. For me , i didn't want to spend more than 4k on the last tv i bought. the room it went in has a 3 huge windows that let in a lot of light all day. The LCD that i bought was perfect for this scenario because of its anti glare finish w/o loosing any color and depth. 50:000 to 1 and 120HZ auto motion 1080p. plus it came in at about $2700...got a ps3, hdmi cables, wall mount, movies and games with money to spare.

I guess the bottom line is find what YOU like cause in the end its your money and your TV.
