Could he have been mistaken the dad's voice to be a woman's since when someone talks in a hushed tone, it's often hard to tell?

He said he could hear the dad snoring... Duh #1

Again, he couldn't make out the details. Could it have been the mom? What if the mom woke up for a leak, like the dad?

He noted that the mom was wearing different clothes. Did she change all of the sudden to pee?? He also said that she walked into the parlor... opposite the parents room... which had no other exit... when the bathroomlight came on... he could not see here in there... but his gf saw something in her room. ...Duh #2

Ok, ok, let me revise my answers.

1) Could it have been that her mom was talking in two voices? There are people with multiple personalities. Since the whole family was so into that spiritual stuff, maybe they forced themselves to believe something that wasn't there. As for the mom, when one forces oneself to believe in something, one usually becomes obsessed with such thing and may begin to act "abnormally", such as having multiple voices/personalities to substitute for such thing.

2) Well, it could've been the mom. Before she went to bed, she was wearing white, but when she was in bed, she changed to black pajamas or something. The mom could've waken up for a bathroom break, then walked into the parlor to get something, and in a blink of an eye, she walked back into her room, which was opposite of the parlor, without him seeing it.

But anyway, there may very well be ghosts, but I still refuse to believe it until I've seen one myself. Throughout my life, I've tried to do many things to experience a ghostly thing, but nothing has ever happened. I've even been to cemetaries and stuff.

I used to be religious (Catholic) like my entire family, but after a million times of praying for some kind of sign or epiphany, nothing has ever happened. Then I just gave up faith altogether. If there was a higher spiritual being, something or epiphany should've shown its face to me after I'd prayed so much for it. No proof? No faith!

Nope, don't, won't, can't believe in anything. One of the very very very small percentage to admit it.

It took a lot to put that experience into words. As I was typing it just came back like a bad dream.

The part I left out was that my ex-gf was very upset because the last time someone outside the immediate family "saw" her grandmother's image/ghost/spirit whatever...he committed suicide about 10 days later. Almost like the grim-reaper.

every once in while when visiting my parents i drive by that house...f-ing scary

i swear I was awake enough to know it wasn't a dream

Kindof off topic but last October I read a great scary book. Anybody over 25 from Chicago /southern WIsc area can remember this from late 80s/early90s:

The Beast of Bray Road - Linda S. Godfrey

It's an easy read and has some really spooky local tales. I actually took some road trips in the S to check out some of the different "sighting" spots.
