This thread gives me the chills, especially after seeing seung's video clip.

I believe in ghost/spirits, but I still don't believe in the almighty "stook." "Stook", now that's scary! I thought I saw a "stook" one time, but it was just my imagination. The next day, someone pulled up to me and said, "Nice Stook!". I then dropped the clutch and floored it. I still have nightmares.

Personally, I don't believe in ghosts. However, I think asians in general are more superstitious and are raised that way. Man, the stories that my Mom used to tell me when I was growing up. Winder why I didn't turn out as superstitious as she did.

This is quite an interesting thread. But I must comment on a religious comment that was brought up by Platinum - "if you believe in god you must also believe in satan" (of course not quoted directly). In this line of thinking, that is what you have been brought up to believe - a humanized god, one which has a good side and a bad side, two opposites, one that is forgiving and one that is threatening of consequences that might happen to you - that is the jist of the beliefs and only in the depths of that belief, not the details or arguments on the surface.

Last night I was talking with a friend of mine, she told me a story about when she was 6 years old. Her mother had her when she was 15, so a 21 year old mother and a 6 year old daughter. Her uncle was the same age as she was. One night, her grandfather came to her room and sat next to her and told her that he was getting sick and he's going to have to go somewhere and he will not be back. The next day, she told her mother. Her mother said that it was not possible. The grandfather died two days before and she wasn't told about it, and they were going to the funeral that day. But that isn't even the odd part of this story. Her mother called up her uncles' mother and wondered how she got that kind of idea in her head especially since the kids did not know that he died a few days prior. The uncle's mother said she heard the same story from her son (the uncle).

So what was it? I'm not even sure, but I will tell you, in previous experiences I share beliefs, but I will not voice them.

I actually believe in ghosts, or rather, energy manifestations that are in limbo. I have been interested in ghosts since I was a young kid and the topic is deeply fascinating to me. I think there are too many stories to dismiss

Well I hesitated to add to this post because, it's kinda weird, but I might as well share my experiences.
For one, I'm not religious at all, I don't believe in life after death or anything else like that. Yet, I can't deny what I have witnessed in my life. For the most part something has been following my sister since birth. All sorts of strange phenomena has surrounded her. I personally have been witness, to figures moving in the dark, So has my brother in law, who was staying here one night when my sister still lived here. He had seen a tall women, and actually spoke to it before it vanished. I have seen things move for no reason I can easily explain, and have heard voices many many times. This has happened in the 3 different houses that I have lived in. My old place when I lived on a farm had 2 houses, one in which I used for my band practice. I was in the basement, Freaking scarry in its own right! starting a fire in the wood burning furnace. I heard above the door open, many footsteps and the voice of my friends coming in to the house. I went upstairs to find no one there, the front door locked and no cars in the driveway. My friends arrived an hour later.
Now I have never felt any fear in these situations, as they always seem to be harmless. Except for once, when I was walking back from the old century house to my own home, about 500 feet away. I had a feeling of dread as I walked away from the house, that I couldn't explain. I told myself to not look back. I did, and saw an old women in the upstairs window. I ran so freaking fast I would have won the gold in the Olympics. That is the only time I ever felt really scared.

I guess the only reason I'm sharing now, because I know 90% of the people think it's BS is because for the last 3 morning in a row, I have bolted up out of sleep at precisely 6:03 am to a whispered voice in my ear saying "Pretty People" I'm hoping that It won't be a repeat again tomorrow.

Do I believe these are spirits? no, my best guess, is some sort of residual energy, that we for the most part are unaware of. Since my sister has moved out, they happen very rarely, but my sisters new house, in the year that she has lived there, she has about 120 stories already. Uggghhh gives me the creeps!

So scientists can detect quantum particles, therefore we know everything there is to know.
If you had said a few years ago that something could travel faster then light you would be laughed out of the room, yet here comes Quantum mechanics and hey, Just maybe it's possible. What the people of earth don't know could fill the Universe.

I'll believe it when I see it....

I am not sure if this is a ghost or not....but have any seen the movie THREE MAN AND A BABY....(don't remember the actors' names but one of them was in Police Academy playing Mahoney and the other guys was from Magnum PI) There is a scene where a boy was standing behind the curtains next to the window during the day time....you could only see this on the first release of the film...because once they found out that there was a boy in the film that wasn't suppose to be there...they made another copy.

Check it out....anybody have seen ?????
