I think the main thing is that Asian men are to shy.
Its not looks or background. For example, if your the dorky guy in the corner with thick glasses and a pocket protector, no girl is going to want to date you no matter what race you are.
I was shy in highschool, but I had great friends who got me more outgoing which helped my selfesteem. When I became more outgoing I realized that there were people that were interested in me and probably always did, but I just never saw it.

 

I'm white and I've dated asian girls before... none of my asian friends had a problem with it. Actually, most asian guys I know PREFER white women because they say asian women are too high maintenance. This guy sounds like a whiny little ***** who isn't getting any... just like those white guys who complain about all the black guys "stealing" their women.

I think that guy brought up some valid points, but for the most part he sounded like a whiney, frustrated biatch. It was particularly irritating how he kept repeating how 'awesome' asian guys are. I also disagree with how all asian guys get pissed off when a white guy dates an asian girl. I encourage my white friends to date asian women, it doesnt bother me one bit...if it did i would be the biggest hypocrite.

I'm 100% asian, malaysian/chinese to be exact, born there...but raised here in Australia. In fact, despite my heritage I consider myself to be a true "Aussie", which isnt to say I don't appreciate my origins and culture. I've had no problems dating other races, ive had a sri-lankan ex gf, a dutch one, a german one, spanish one, aussie one etc...so on, so forth.

There will always be people who have racial preferences, white girls who only date white guys...asian girls who only date asian guys, I don't feel that there is anything wrong with that. Its all to do with what someone finds attractive in another person, whether its a particular type of look, way of dressing, even skin colour - its all the same to me. If a white girl/guy doesnt want to be my friend because im asian, well...thats another story altogether.

I think naomi-sarah hit the nail on the head when she mentions how asian men aren't portrayed very well in the media. Its very rare, virtually non-existent to see an asian male playing a lead outside of the stereotypical kung fu hero. You hardly ever see them in hugo boss adverts, tommy, ralph etc (in fact i dun recall seeing one at all). The media has a powerful underlying effect on people, and with the lack of asian males in lead roles, brand name advertisements etc, it may well send a sublimal msg to the masses that asians just aren't 'cool'. Thankfully I believe that the majority of people aren't really effected by this. I also recall reading an article in 'martial arts illustrated' where the actor who played donatello in the turtles movies mentioned how the industry was biased. I particularly recall one line, where he was saying "its perfectly alright for a caucasian male to do a love scene with an asian woman, but when was the last time to saw the reverse happen?". He is now married to a very cute white girl, if that means anything.

Anyway, it was an interesting article/write-up...and I apologise for the long-winded post.

 

ok, I am no car fan and it's safe to say i know nuts about cars. But all the same, a friend of mine asked me to look at this thread and I do have a reply to it. I think the doors swing both ways. What do you think Asian women think of Asian guys with foreign girlfriends. Heck, what do you think Asian women think of other Asian women with foreign guys. It makes us feel like we're inferior too.

You talk about how it's all about personality and how Asian guys have it all. I have never doubted that they do. I am as Asian as Asian can get. I'm part Shanhainese, Pernakan, Indian and Eurasian and that's just the gist of it.

I guess what I'm trying to say boils down to this. It's not just about character. We all know that. It's about looks. Tell me when was the last time you walked down the street and saw a couple irregardless of race hand in hand but the girl is fat or the guy isn't a Johnny Depp lookalike? It's completely ok for a girl to date a big sized guy but for a guy to date a big sized girl? I know what's going through your mind. I'm just another Asian girl trying to defend myself. But so what? Bottom line is, we're all materialistic idiots.

I liked your post. I am white. I never knew Asian girls like white guys. I have always wanted to bang an Asian chick but never had the balls to go up and hit on one cause I thought they only dated Asian guys. Now I am so happy that I know this new information you presented. Im gonna try and grab one this weekend.

Theres alot of Asian girls who are anti-Asian. They rather be with any white guy, whether he's hot or on the bottom of the food chain rather than a decent Asian guy.

Go for it man, there's ton of Asian girls you can bang. Usually these types that only like white guys try to hang out with only white people too so it is easy to spot.
