Default Do you guys think this is legit?

Recently, I found a buyer for my wheels willing to pay my asking price online but the catch is he's from a different country (australia). I told him I didn't feel comfortable dealing out of the country, so he suggested that I ship the wheels to his "friend" in florida.

btw.. He's paying through paypal.

I don't know why but something just seems a bit fishy.. what do you guys think?

Get the money first, and have it cleared. Then ship them.

Simple.

I'd never ship anything before I had the money, that is a mugs game.

Alternatively, cough up and sell them on here.

I've done it before with, although, a much less valuable item.

Shipped to a guy in NY who then shipped it overseas to Germany I think.

All is well on my transaction

I'll send you a check for $4500 for those wheels.

I've done it before when I bought a bike online. No problems on my end.

nice thread reference.

Sounds okay to me, ship to florida and talk to his buddy on the phone first. Get the contact info you need to feel comfortable including an actual business or home address, a business is probably better.

I don't think there's anything too odd, Aussies buy stuff from NA often enough.

Cool. Thanks guys for the help. Should I even suggust to ship to australia to make it easier for him?

I'm just worried because I think I read something a few months ago about a scam from buyers. It went something like, the buyer sends you money through PP, then something goes wrong and the seller gets the money taken out of their account.

when the money clears, take the money out of your paypal account so there is nothing in there....then the I don't think the buyer can take it back (correct me if I'm wrong)

Its fairly common...just make sure the money is cleared and it would help if the address you are sending it to is verified.
