I recycle everything I can... Doesn't cost me anything, and hopefully there will be something left of this Earth by the time my Grandchildren are around (that is probably in 20 years or so).

Blood donations - every 8 weeks...doesn't really hurt and it seems to be in demand.

When I bring these things up in conversations people think it is funny that they are too lazy to try and conserve!

Been recycling for a number of years.
Blood, well it's that needle phobia thing. Would like to, but when you pass out at a blood test....

My answer is similar to Zippy's. I recycle everything that they take in the recycle bin. I have a needle phobia too.
The last time I had a blood test, my arm hurt for a week where they stuck me.

Scot, I recycle everything I can too. Especially at work. As you know I work with over 3000 peaple and there is no recycling system at my work, so I just take whatever cans and bottles the people around me empty home in a plastic bag.

BTW, we produced our 2 millionth bike on Friday. Pretty cool huh?

I've given blood a few time. I don't weigh enough, so I usually pass out and they they tell me you're suppose to be xxx pounds. I recycle from time to time.

Part of this thread is because....

My brother in law was just diagnosed with cancer and has NEVER given blood in his life. All of the sudden he sees the importance...he needed several pints of blood, and hadn't thought about where they came from until he was in need..... They said he doesn't have much time to live do to waiting forever to go to the doctor in the first place, but now is feeling awefull about not giving blood......

Just trying to help the cause (and make some people feel guilty for not giving).

I'm usually too sick to eat or drink, but they try so hard to make me drink something.

I have gone through more than one period in my life where I gave blood regularly (this last series was over two gallons) but have again suspended donations because of the inexperienced and careless workers that take blood.

Would be more than happy to resume but I do not want to face waits of over an hour (usually because of poor scheduling or failed donations before me), bad sticks, and uncomfortable bandages.

I want to do my part, but the organizations that survive because of my good will need to do a much better job!

(and yes I recycle).
