Mr. Enviorment/Dracula (a.k.a. Scot):

Of course I recycle and of course I give blood...the real question is: Why?

Simple answer: to meet chicks!!

Complicated answer: to extend the life and balance of the eco-system, to preserve human life and to meet enviro-friendly females that don't shave their underarms...man what a turn-on!!

Mark

P.S. - I may be an a$$hole, but deep down, I am a teddy bear...

I used to recycle until I did a little investigating. My neighborhood recycling truck put everything in the same bin after asking us to separate plastic, paper, etc. One day I followed the truck only to see it go to the same landfill they take garbage to. Very disappointing. As far as donating blood is concerned, I tried; however, due to the act that I had had bypass surgery and blood transfusions in the past precluded me from donating. So, evidently my world is not green nor my blood pure enough.

Recycling I have to get back in to. Once you're accustomed, it's second nature...

As for donating juice I haven't since high school. Did it once at a blood drive. Got quite a bit woozy as I recall, heh...

Back to recycling, though... It's definitely needed. It'll take a long, long time to make any positive environmental impacts if we ALL contribute to that, as well as reduced ozone depletions, rainforest wipe-outs, etc. So much damage is irrepairable already.

I was an environmental sciences major in college. Odd that I ended up in computers...! Stiking with it for the money I guess... My shift allows for spare time however, which this year I may devote some of to volunteering at Audobon.
Wanted to start two years ago but I got caught up.

I do both. I also provide free care to my patients who can't afford health insurance. It's called doing what is right.

I do both but not the blood so much anymore. I need to become a regular again. The problem is when I was in college I used to sell my plasma eight (yes 8!) times per month for a total of $100.

The plasma donation process sucks! They basically remove all of your blood, keep the good stuff, mix the leftovers with saline solution and pump it back into ya. The process took me about 45 minutes each time. I have BP of 100/60 so I have low flow through the needle. I have tracks like a heroin addict.
