Growing up here in Norcal, I hear a lot of people use the word 'hella' this 'hella' that. They'd use it in a sentence like "I'm hella tired!" or "That's hella nasty!" In LA, I noticed a few peeps using 'hecka' this and 'hecka' that. Just wondering if you've heard of these words???

 

Hella is definitely a Cali thing. One of my friends from college was from Palo Alto and used to say that all the time and I was like wtf.

 

Do peeps in Philly use 'hecka'?

 

I actually notice it being a Northern California kind of thing. Going to school in southern California, the kids from NorCal were saying those things. No one says it out here in NC.
