Do you workout?
Nice, I wanted to re-juvenate this thread but didn't want to search for it.
I've got a question.
I'm trying to lose some excess fat, and also trying to bulk up on muscle. I switched up my routine 2 weeks ago from strength/endurance training (4 sets of 10-12 reps) with 15 minutes cardio at start of workout. Now I'm going for strength training (3-4 sets of 7-8 reps) with 45-60 of cardio. Right now I'm doing 30 min of cardio at start of workout, then 1 hour of weights, then 20-30 min of cardio to cool down. I know that excessive cardio can impeed muscle growth, but I'm doing it to lose fat, and have strength (in leg muscle and in endurance) for hockey.
My question, should I focus on doing all my cardio before weights, after weights or the same as I'm doing now (some before, some after - warmup/cooldown)?
Thanks in advance guys

Ahh i remember this thread.
You its good to do a little cardio before, get your heart and muscles warmed up before strength training. Personally when I used to work out it was wayyy to hard to do more cardio after a tough work out, which is why I stuck it in before.
Seeing this thread has made me want to work out again. Time to get back into my football days shape!

Monday - Shoulders
Tuesday - Breast
Wednesday - Bicep/Triceps
Thursday - Legs
Friday - Back
Saturday - optional day
Sunday - optional day
Cardio for 30 minutes+ 1.5 hour of lifting including abs. I change my workout routine every other week because your body starts to adjust and you don't get as sore if you stay with the same routine.
Diet - Lots of Chicken, Creatine, Amino acid, Whey Protein, Multivitamins

updates.
Now that I am in Iraq, I work out 7 days a week.
I gain 15lbs of fat pretty much because I was taking medicine that was hurting my body in every way. Like the joints, lack of breath, and etc....
So, I had to do something. I have lost 15lbs and gain more muscle and am back in shape.
i run 20 mins in the morning. This i do about 6-6:30 min per mile pace.
after dinner I do one of these following...
chest- 1 1/2 hours
bi/tri-2 hours
shoulders/back-1 1/2 hours
I do situps at end of each work out for about 20 mins. Albs are very important. I see hugh people but with fat gut and that is sad. i got the 6 packs back with riblets.
I am actually small guy 5'8" and weigh 150lbs and I now bench 260lbs. that is 60lbs more than i ever did before. 110 over my weight is pretty good I think. It doesnt matter if you bench 400lbs when you are 350lbs dude.
Most important thing people dont realize is that its not how much you eat but what you eat. Eat right and work out every day and you HAVE to lose fat.
