Does anyone here drive without their shoes?

Actually I agree with
I think relying on that much feel is questionable.
You should never have to rely on driving barefoot. This is very true in Florida, I don't know about others, but it's illegal to drive barefoot just incase the car catches on fire. It's just a safety thing.

But you should always be able to drive a manual car with almost any shoes and have no problems.

I like driving barefoot because I never wear shoes as it is. So my feet are rough enough to not be hurt by the pedals, plus I've been doing it for a while. But I have no problem if I'm dressing up to go out to wear some nice dress shoes or tennis shoes if the time calls for it.

I always drive bearfoot and legally too! The "it's illegal to drive bearfoot" thing is an urban legend.

Maybe its just me, but I cannot drive the S smoothly with sandals. I don't know why, I do better barefoot. I think its cuz me foot can move slightly in them I guess. I really prefer sneakers or dress shoes when driving.

Odd

Yeah I prefer shoes. I'm getting used to sandals now. I have yet to try it barefoot.

I do. Driving barefoot is for amateurs--if you REALLY want to be "one" with your car, drive it with no underwear

get some touring shoes that you can wear with anything instead of race shoes. or you can get some soccer shoes they work just as well and are a little cheaper, that's what i use.

I just did some research to double check since I've heard this from so many people, including police officers, and you're correct. Sorry for the confusion. Some legislation says it's not recommended but do not make it illegal.

didn't mean to doubt you just double checking.
