Does this sound like some kind of scam

funny.

i bet their "agent" is armed to the teeth and not alone when he comes to pick up your car, though. If you pull any crap they will beat/kill you and take the car.

A friend of mine just got this scam while trying to sell her HORSE! They dont want to scam you out of the product your selling, just the money your gonna send back for the overpayment. Just think how many people fall for this because they dont get around on the internet!

SCAM!

My friend and I played along with one scammer last year. It was a lot of fun, and really funny at some points. There's a thread on here somewhere, but I'm not even going to try to use the search feature.

Anyway, a few months ago he learned that the scammer had stolen his name and address to use to open a FedEx account. He needed an "Americanized" name and address to send to potential victims. Luckily, someone looked him up and contacted him to let him know that his name was being used in these types of scams.

I tried to sell my motorcycle on the internet a few weeks ago. I got 4 emails like this the first day, and six more the second day. One said how he had been looking for months for a motorcycle exactly like mine- right, a 32 year old Honda. I told everyone of them to drop dead.

Take the money and don't send anything. Make him sweat a little.

the same thing is happening to me. supposedly the check is en route.
I am still trying to find a way to cash the money and get away with it w/out sending my car.

I wonder if there is any check- cashing store that will cash a $17,000 check from Canada ?
