Had two as a kid. Wonderful dogs that haven't been spoiled by overbreeding. They're big enough to be fun, yet small enough to have in the house without worrying about them breaking all your stuff. They're very loyal, smart, loving, and easy to care for. We're debating right now whether or not to get one. Unfortunately, we have a very small backyard and aren't home all that much. I'm not convinced that it's fair to the dog to live in that environment.

Smiles, talks a lot: after eating, burps in your face, farts often, takes up way to much room on the bed. Likes to get up with the sun, and demands to be fed. At least we don't have to put him through college!
Glad to hear you rescued a dog...it is the best way to get yourself a great dog. We rescued our dog, Maya, about a year ago. She is a doberman and just an incredible dog.
