One question, do you leave the shower door open, or can he open it too?

My first german shepherd (male) never once went in the house and I never trained him not to. He just knew better. My current german shepherd (female) peed in the house all the time, until she finally got it. She's smarter, just more stubborn.

We leave the door open usually. Good thing it was that night huh? Our girl is very stubborn too. Don't know if you can fix that.

Toilet-trained cat.

This cat wins all! I can't even imagine how to start training a pet to go in the toilet.

I heard there was a cat that not only knew how to poop in the toilet but also flush it afterwards.

I'm pretty sure you start with a kitty litter bowl in the toilet and get them used to that first then remove the kitty litter eventually. I'm just sayin...

I don't think that's how it works. Usually, cats literally get into the box and dig. But what do I know?

I agree. A cat will find the litter if you move it.

This is what I read on how to toilet train cats:

First put an open top cardboard litter box on the toilet. Make that the only place the cat can go to do its business. Then gradually remove litter from the box over the next week until there's only a quarter inch high. Then begin cutting a hole on the bottom center of the litter box and gradually enlarge it over time while continue to leave less and less litter in the box. Be sure to use the type of litter that can be flushed in the toilet. Hopefully the cat would soon learn to pee and poop through the opening. Then finally one day remove and hide the box for good.

^ I ALMOST had my cat toilet trained. I first put the litter box in the bathroom, then gradually raised it so it was the same level as the toilet. eventually I put the box on the lid of the toilet, then a few days later transferred litter into a small bowl that actually fit in the toilet. I gradually put in less and less litter. She was pooping and peeing in it, until I removed the litter... then she would still pee in the toilet, but not poop. she kept pooping on the floor.

I eventually gave up and gave her the litterbox back. She was about 5 years old when I tried. I'm sure if you did this when they were kittens it would work great though.
