Don't piss me off!

I quit smoking yesterday and am a little on edge.
I smoked for many of my early years, but now I've quit for even longer, and I haven't looked back.
I found nicorette gum (it was prescription only back then) helpful. It was before the "patch" was around.
If you can stay off for say, 9 months, go buy yourself a new supercharger or something!
..and not to discourage you, but I had dreams about having the forbidden cigarette for years after I quit. I'd wake up pissed at myself for re-starting the nasty habit, only to realize I really hadn't, it was only a dream.
Anyone else who quit experience this?

Congratulations cthree!!! Excellent job man!!!! It has been 5 weeks today for me. Things that helped me: (1) Stopped smoking in the car, I did this very often (not in the s2k, dont worry), so once I stopped doing that, half of my smoking time was gone. (2) Start spending more time with girlfriend / wife that doesn't smoke.....I spent so much time with my girlfriend and she would yell at me if I had one and she then refused to let me have one while I was with her (a cigarette or a piece of ass? come on now...) (3) Keep yourself busy!!! Dont' give yourself time to start thinking about having one..... (4) Smoking is an oral fixation according to Freud, so, go buy some gum to keep your mouth busy...or chew on a pen cap or something...
Hang in there, it gets much easier after the first week or so.
GOOD LUCK AND CONGRATS!!!

Hang in there cthree. I smoked off and on for years, but not enough to form a habit. Then one day a friend of mine said he wasn't feeling well. (he smoked a lot) Than was January 1996. In March 1996 was his funeral. Lung cancer. Never put another cigarette in my mouth.
