i read about the 12.21.2012 thing a long time ago, i think in a graham hancock book probably. have seen it pop up a few times in the last however many years.

just last week i came across another thread on it, but this time found something called the novelty theory and the i ching. the novelty theory is terrence mckenna (drug dude)'s work, and it's based on the i ching i think. pretty interesting stuff. i think i'm of the opinion that the world won't end. maybe some aliens will land or something...haha.

I vaguely remember there was some Doomsday predicted when I was in high school. There was this particularly religious couple who were quite vocal about what they felt was going to happen. Wonder how stupid they felt when the world didn't end...?

For me, regardless of the source of predicted Doomsday(s), I really don't think about it. There's nothing I can do to change it, so I'll just live my life as I normally do.

Oh noes.. the Rapture. Well, we've all lived through countless doomsday predictions already. I wouldn't start building your bunker yet.

We have bombs that can penetrate those bunkers anyway.

Damn the Mayans!

Yeah, don't you people know? The world already ended in the year 666 and again in 2000 and I'm sure countless other dates the lemmings get worked up about. Some people need to get a life....or better yet, death.

Well if you read more into that date the aztecs dont really say it's the end of the world, just the end of the current stage of the world and moving on to the next one.

Im too lazy to back this up with some links but Im sure you guys can google something

I also think that the mayan's say it's not necessary the 'end of the world' but a time of change in which we'll start to see some drastic changes. We'll just have to wait and see, 2012 isn't too far and I will most likely still have my s2k and I will still be reading here on s2ki.
