that thing was more comfortable then the clothes i sleep in!!!!
now i love wearing suits.
i wear them when ever i can.
i have even worn them while autocrossing!
i agree about how a suit fits that makes you look nice rather then a suit's style.

Suit up bitches!!
Tailoring is the secret to any suit. If you have a more "generous" body type, stick with a traditional suit cut. If you have a more athletic or trim build you can chase some of the current suiting styles.
As mentioned earlier Narrow lapels are in, as are short pant breaks. Basically a well tailored to slightly small fit is the trend. Two or three button should depend on height and occasion. Three button can push more formal but two is always a safe fall back for any occasion. In either regard you never button the bottom button of a suit coat, over coat yes, suit coat... no.
As lapel width goes it's best to try and match your tie width to the lapel width if at all possible. This is not a hard-and-fast rule but is preferred if possible.
Shoes and belt are just as important as the suit. Don't spend time getting a well tailored suit and then wear dirty, creased shoes, with unmatched socks and a random belt.

i own a mens dress clothing store, and here is my take.
double breasted suits arent really out, but they are mainly looked at as an old persons suit. Single breast is more of the style too.
and michael irvin shops at my store!!!

Anyone see Letterman tonight? What was he wearing? That's right, a charcoal double-breasted suit. Hmmm...

exactly, same as with square toes vs. round/pointy toes...
