The new Sly Stallone CART racing film "Driven" is coming to theaters in April.
There's a full page ad for it in the March 2001 issue of ROAD & TRACK.

I can't say I'm waiting too excitedly for this one. I had initially thought this would be an F1 movie, and was looking forward to it. But, after seeing the trailer for the movie in the theater, I realized it would be a CART movie. That's fine, but the producers apparently liked the sound of F1 cars better, because the engine sounds they use in the trailer are unmistakenly those of a Formula 1 car!
It's that kind of attention to detail that makes me love Hollywood (-:

You have Bernie to thank for that. He did everything he could to make it difficult for Stallone to make it an F1 movie.
I prefer CART to F1 anyways because the field's a lot more level. It's not like F1 where you can flip a coin and be 50% sure that you've picked the winner of the race (McLaren or Ferrari). Plus, it's great to be able to meet the drivers at a CART race while they're walking around the paddock. I'd like to see that happen at an F1 race!
