Speakers dont need to have any power nor any connections to cause the cellphone hum. Its the electromagnetic waves emmited from the cellphone that cause the hum. My stupid razor affects just about EVERY electronic device I have. Great phone but worst phone when it comes to disrupting other things.

Faulty flourescent light?
Faulty washer in a toilet (or possibly hot water system?) causing a little bit of hammering in the pipes after the water fills up?
While we are at it.....
my gas lift chair causes my pc speakers to emite a couple of little "pop" sounds when I get off the chair (no they are not connected together)

it might be an insect thats making that noise(forget the name of the insect)....are you sure it's coming from inside your house not outside.....they like to hang out in trees.....they make like a buzzing/humming sound for long periods of time.

I live near an airport. When the planes fly right overhead my computer speakers pick up the communications (they aren't even connected to a computer anymore). Yes that's right my speakers pick up the radio communications without even being powered. Weird, but I'm used to it. Any speaker can do this or even a microphone can do this. Well it can make noise from interference.
