Default Drove a SC430 this weekend

A friend of mine got a 2002 SC430 and let me use it for a couple of days this last weekend. My wife likes this car, but I don't like the styling too much. Well the car is very luxurious, has everything you would want and drives very smooth. The only thing that it does not have is fun. The car is not fun to drive. After driving it for a couple of days I was running to my S2000 to get some exciting driving done. So I think the car is good luxury roadster, but not a fun sports car. JMO

It looks like a big heavy beast and for $60k I'm sure that I could find a much nicer ride. 2 stooks come to mind...

Crazy, but here in Chicago, I see those monsters everywhere. At least two on the way in this morning. It's an old fart's convertible. It was never intended to be a true sports car. It's a boulevard cruiser...doesn't do anything a traditional sports car does. It's just a giant bug looking thing, that rides on a cushion of air and handles about the same way. It's nice inside though, beautifully appointed.

I'd get one, if I was 90 yeears old!

You are right, the car is beautifully appointed. And the one I drove had a L Sportline suspension kit (L Sportline is a tuner that does performance upgrades for Lexus Automobiles) and was still boring.

I think that it is just plain ugly.

They have awesome stereos in them though, not awesome enough to hide the ugly though.

I would much have an S2k over that lexus. Over any lexus in fact.

But of course, I'm more of a Sports car type. Could careless about all the other goodies.

If I was gonna get a luxury car, it'd be a four door with four seats.

Two very different cars with two very different target markets.
This is Lexus most expensive car in their line-up. Seeing them priced at 70K plus. Riduculous rear seats for children of dwarfs only. But the designers wanted to lower the insurance for the customers so they stuck those rear seat to lower insurance cost for the automobile figuring they would mark up the MSRP. My girlfriend is going to buy this one for herself.
