Default DRT story

dead right there

http://www.myfoxatlanta.com/dpp/news...20110511-am-sd

"Gwinnett County police say a woman shot and killed an intruder who confronted her in her own home as she got out of the shower on Wednesday morning.

Police say it happened at a home on East Mount Tabor Circle in unincorporated Duluth around 6:30 a.m. They say the 53-year-old homeowner got out of her shower to discover a man in her bathroom who was armed with a kitchen knife. Police believe he was trying to sexually assault the woman.

Police say a struggle then ensued, and the woman was hurt when the man pushed her back into shower. Investigators say the woman started hitting him with a shower curtain rod and then told the man not to hurt her, and that she had money in the next room.

According to police, the suspect then forced her into the bedroom, where police believe he planned to sexually assault her. That’s when they say she pulled out a gun and shot the man several times. They say he stumbled out of the house and collapsed in the yard.

The suspect, who was in his 20s, was taken to Gwinnett Medical Center in Lawrenceville, where he later died. The homeowner was also taken to a hospital to be treated for minor injuries, but she is expected to be okay.

Neighbors say they are relieved that the woman was not seriously hurt, and they say they are glad she had a gun and wasn't afraid to use it.

Police say the woman will not be charged because she used deadly force in reaction to a deadly threat. They have not released the names of either the victim or the suspect involved."

I'm just glad she bought a gun to kill someone and finally got her wish. Lucky her, gotta envy that.

I'd feel better about it if she beat him to death with a baseball bat. Guns just seem to divorce one from the visceral nature of the act.

I'd like to shake her hand. She did what I would hope my wife would do in that situation.
