i'm watching "Wall Street" (1984) and i remember the fashion stuff i went through in the 80s... what the hell were we thinking? the chicks all wore shirts and jackets with HUGE shoulder pads with weird ass hats, make-ups, etc.

in 1985 when i lived in Oklahoma, everyone (including myself) had long hair (i had a tail), everyone had a mustache, and everyone was (or wanted to be) blond. i wore pants that i purposely bought extra long so i can roll up the bottom into this tight fitting roll and tuck it with my basketball shoes.

in the late 80s when i lived in Calabasas, it was Ocean Pacific and Jimmy Z T-shirts and shorts.

what was i thinking?

I'm quite proud to say that I never owned a pair of parachute pants or camoflage pants...! But it's funny, every decade when we look back on the music and fashion (or lack there of), we laugh just like this. Pretty amusing, especially when we think we're so damn cool...only to look like complete idiots 10 years later!

Just wait until your kids are looking through your yearbook and laughing.

I just hope 20 years from now we don't look back at our photo's and say the same thing. "I'm proud to say that I never wore Cargo pants or Jeans" You laugh now, but in the 80's did you realize that this type of clothing is a phase. You NEVER know.

In the early 70's I had a pair of 32" bells.

In the mid 70's my hair was past the middle of my back.

Now I'm happy to still have hair! Hell with that, I'm happy just to still be around.

In the early 70s I was a full on hair-to-the waist, psychedelic clothes, bleached hair, drugged out, peace and freedom hippie -- sort of an overreaction to getting out of the Air Force. Fortunalely I (1) was gainfully employed (somehow) in a professional position and (2) lived. WHAT WAS I THINKING?
