Default Dumb Head Floyd Landis

What do you guys think??

I guess as far as I know that since sample B came back positive, Hes probably going to be stripped of the yellow jersey as soon as USA cycling finishes their investigation.

I read somewhere that the normal testosterone level is something like 4:1 and his was around 12:1...

Did any of you see the finish of the stage where he came back from the 8:08 deficit?? He was so angry after he finished! Shoving cameramen and throwing the bike.. I work at a bike shop and after we saw this, we joked that it was because of his roids giving him mood swings.. Now I think it really was!!

If he did "dope", Thats pathetic.. Just adds to the reason why other countries hate americans.... Cycling is huge outside of the U.S. and to have someone from the U.S. come in and win by cheating, thats just a disgrace..

F.U. Floyd Landis!

I'm not sure if its true or not, but anytime an american wins the Tour...there is going to be an investigation or claims will be made. Hell that probably goes for any country other then France!

I agree 100%. I honestly do not trust anything the French do when it comes to dealing with the U.S and U.S. citizens. They should be still be kissing our asses from saving them from the Nazi's in WW2. They are not to be trusted and I wouldn't be suprised if the samples were tampered with.

What I'm curious about is that every other test he took was negative, and according to the experts, using roids just once won't do squat for your performance. If that's true then why would Landis juice up? Unless, he's been doing it for a long time and somehow able to avoid being caught.

I'm not sure right now. Landis's arguments and his general reaction seem very weak though...

I kind of agree with what you are saying. There are only 3 real possibilities here, because taking testosterone for one day during the long race would not have any real effect if you understand how it works as a performance enhancer.

a) he is a moron and was using the drug incorrectly (which if you read his statements, he knows it would have done no good to take it for one day)

b) it is a setup and somebody was out to taint his test results.

c) he got caught cheating because he screwed up hiding his usage.

I am not a conspiracy guy by nature, and could really care less who wins the Tour de France, but I do find two things curious.

If someone wanted to taint his result because he was another American who was gonna win, the only time to do so would be when the guy pulls into the lead, which is exactly when it happened.

I am also puzzled that he only failed one test, and it was for something that taking just that one time during the race would have done virtually nothing for him.

Either way I don't care. If he was cheating, I am glad they found out. If he is innocent, then I guess I feel for the guy because I think integrity and reputation are of more value than championships and cash but I am in the minority one that one I am sure.

I'm pretty sure he was doping, i'm also pretty sure the majority of the field was doping as well.

Look at how most of the favorites for the TdF ended up... They were (more or less) kicked out because of extensive paperwork trails implicating them in doping. Never once did any of them test positive. The chemists are always one step ahead of the testing... If they can clean up the field i'm all for it. As it stands now tho, it's as much a battle of the chemists as it is of the cyclists. You can't make a mediocre cyclist great with 'em, but you can make a great cyclist just that little much better.

I'm just going to be amused when/if the go to the next 3 guys and they all test positive.

At what point do you chuck all of the results and say that doping had too much an impact, whether or not the person that won doped?

I'm hoping he didn't because it's a great story on how he won. But the evidence seems to point the other way.

I read that book about Bonds and steroids a while back and it appears that doping is more prevalent than people thought. I guess it's just like that great quote regarding autosports, there are "cheaters and losers".

While the French may have motive to discredit any American cyclist, especially one that wins the Tour, I'm not a big believer in conspiracy theories. Landis' own doctor confirmed the high testosterone level. And Landis' excuses or explanations have been a joke so far. The scientific evidence is there; Landis is quilty.
