Anyone who rides any distance regularly can understand the difficulty of a race that can be as long as 2,500 miles over a three week period, with two rest days. On top of that, these guys do this month after month during the season. So on one hand you would have to be very naieve to think that nothing goes on.

On the other hand, you have to remember that the Tour de France was invented to sell newspapers. If I have learned one thing in my life it is that you don't get the whole story through the media. You get what they give you! If you don't believe me think about this next time you are reading a controversial article; "calls to Landis were not immediatly returned", that means they were returned but the media chose not to publish what he said. "calls to Landis were not returned" that means he didn't call back. "Landis could not be reached for comment", you have no idea how hard they tried to get a hold of him. All three make him look bad and he didn't do anything.

I read a quote by Floyd's mom. She said that Floyd called her (early on) and told her that he didn't do any drugs. I don't think a guy would lie to his mom, and since she is very religious, I don't think she's lying to us. One thing for sure, we aren't getting the whole story.

Ya, Floyd definately had a neat story.... Mennonite, helped Lance win, great comeback on that one state, etc...... I think that is all down the tubes now.

If he is actually innocent, he should go on the Today show and have them administer a lie detector test live.

So far he has had a zillion excuses.... drank a beer, did some shots (who the hell would do shots during the Tour de France?), ate something, dehydrated, etc.....

Those excuses would explain small variance, but 11:1 vs 1:1 for normal people.....

Hopefully he clears his name, but I would have to guess he is guilty.

[QUOTE=CalBear,Aug 9 2006, 04:37 AM] I'm hoping he didn't because it's a great story on how he won.
