As a civilian, your responsibility is to your own safety, not to the safety of the general public. A cop can justify his actions much better than you can because his JOB is to protect others (IBTKyushin BTW). Your job is to CYA, and that's why your argument is not valid.
If a car is driving towards you and you have no other escape route and no other choice, then deadly force is probably justified. But if you can simply move out of the way, you have no business shooting anyone.
The key word in my legalese was REASONABLE. And it was mentioned twice in your copy and paste of Georgia law. (reasonably, actually.) Think of that word the next time you wanna throw some hot lead at guy. Would a reasonable person find this to be a reasonable response to the situation?
