Sony just announced the 740, which has "super" image stabilization, 520 lines of resolution, and MPEG capability. It comes out in March. I might look into that when it comes out.

You'll definitely want some thing with Firewire over USB. USB is fine for still cameras but not really adequate for a camcorder.
