That's just it! Among the pages and pages of spec information the one thing you will never find is where the piece of electronics was manufactured or "made in". Even if I call the retailer they are like "Sir, the box is all the way back in the warehouse and so I can't simply walk over there to tell you where it is made in". Can you guys recommend any electronics web sites where I might be able to find some help in this matter?

you can also go to an electronics specialty shop and ask them to special order one for you. i'm sure it'll cost you quite a bit extra. have you tried contacting sony, and maybe ask them to direct you to a dealer that might be helpful...or maybe even the sony store?? i don't know if you have one near where you live, but there is one is san francisco.
