Default Eat right and excersize or take lipitor and other pills?

I work with a guy is taking Lipitor. He is 55 years old and has a huge stomach. He swims once in a while, but apparently just eats way too much (and the wrong things). I always piss him off by telling him that is the chump way out to just pop pills, instead of not eating bacon, etc.......

I am 35 and take about 4 advil per month and a few allergy pills in the summer. I don't stuff myself like a little piggie and cause myself heart problems, cholestoral problems, weight problems, etc......

So....what is your opinion..... eat like a piggie and pop some pills, or exersize and eat in moderation?

Obviously excersise it the right way. We should also reduce the size of our portions of food like you said. There are too many american fat asses.

Popping pills is not going to make you lose weight. Get a dog and walk it or get rollerblades or Fvcking something to keep yourself moving. Exercise is very broad term and does not require going to the gym to lose weight. Hell, having sex for an hour everyday helps ! Doing house work is a form of exercise and it counts.

it depends on your risk factor(s). Some people have to do everything, taking pills and diet and exercise regularly. For those with a mild elevated cholesterol, exercise and diet are sufficient. If your cholesterol is above 200 then you should be on the pill until it goes lower and then diet and exercise can be considered

all of these lazy ers that I work with would rather just pop pills and cost the company tons of $ in medical expense..... that way they can sit on their asses and watch tv. It is funny how stupid people are.

Lipitor can be bad for the liver. This is from someone in pharmaceutical marketing research. Seriously a slightly elevated cholesterol level say between 200 to 220 is better then Lipitor now if your on your second cardio vascular event and your levels are very high say 300 and/or your ratio of bad to good is way bad then it might be worth it but new more promising treatments will be coming soon (we all hope) that will lower cholesterol and not damage the liver. Remember some people can't lower there cholesterol using diet and exercise. Lipitor does not lower your chances of having a heartattack it just lowers your cholesterol count.

popping pills and eating what you normally do is not going to make you loose weight.

HOWEVER!!!!!

Taking Xenadrine (back when it was legal and had ephedra) and eating in moderation would HELP you loose weight!

Not lying, not starting a debate about Ephedra or Stimulants but it is the truth.

Ephedra hightens the bodys internal temperature, how does it do this, well Im no pharmacist so I cant tell you but I can tell you that in order for your body to increase its temperature it must burn off calories (energy) to do this. When it runs out of avaliable calories (from food) it starts burning off fat. This combined with the energy your body already needs (2000 cal. a day at least) will result in weight lose.

That said, I am in the gym for at least an hour a day M-F and sometimes on the weekend, but I eat what I want, so am I loosing weight, no Im staying at the same spot, just how I want it.

So your right, popping a pill and loosing weight is the "weak" way to do it. But, the ability for pills to exist is great for people, who cares how others do it.

If they came out with a pill that turned every girl into a size 4 I dont think anyone would complain, including me and the rest of us who are in the gym everyday.

Moral: FAT PEOPLE ARE HARDER TO KIDNAP!
(no thats not a moral, just funny)

Well, all I got to say on the subject is I weighed in at over 240lbs. I am now down to 190 with just some exercise and eating what I do. That is in one year. I eat for the amount of work or activities for the day. No piggie piggie. I think pills are for the weak. (Yes this may upset someone that takes pills and yes moderator if it is out of line please edit.) Pills are for junkies and the likes. Anyone with will power and selfcontrol can take over. I was diagnosed with diabetes when all of that started and now I take no pills, no shots, just a healthy diet and good way of life. The way I should have done things all along.

I am with ninethreeeleven. I have been taking Ephedrine, and working out a lot, and adjusted my diet. I went from 225 down to 165 right now. I feel great. Also being that you are 35, you should look into cycling Andro, you will cut up MUCH faster, as you have already started to decrease your testoserone (bad spelling) levels. That will triple your Test. levels.
