Default Egotistical bastards have all the fun

So theres this guy ive known since forever, not good friends with him but we've talked. He is flat out the most self centered person ive ever met. Once when he was about 24 he told me that every girl at the local high school had a crush on him, and any one of them would pay money to hang out with him. 100% his own words, and not sarcasm or a joke, that is absolutely the way he views himself. We used to work at abercrombie and he was one of the greeters that would stand outside shirtless, and he would say every single day without fail that every single girl that saw him wanted to do him. he also used to have a 325 4 door and would always try to race my prelude and would blame his losing on bad tires or his need of an oil change or something. Anyways when we got out of highschool he bought some dj equipment and used to dj parties and school dances, weddings, that sort of thing. well over time he kept slowly amassing more and more equipment, eventually bought 2 m3's, then traded those in and bought a 360 modena. well 2 weeks ago he sold all of his equipment for 2.5 million and bought a 2006 murcialago, and he's cockier than ever because now he's been justified in his deuschbaggotry. He's 26 btw and the the way he spends it i doubt he'll have any left by the time he's 27, but it still bugs me for some reason. He also bought his house in newport beach with cash. Do you know anyone like this, the jerks from high school that ended up succeeding in life? If so i want to hear it, lets get depressed.

Karma is a bitch, just remember that. In a few years you'll see him serving ice cream down at a Dairy Queen because he blew all his money on pointless crap.

Sorry, my story is almost quite the opposite.

At my 10 year high school reunion, we had two retirees (a HIGH number of my classmates were low-numbered employees at Yahoo! and Google), and a whole slew of people who are independently wealthy.

They were jealous of me: 1.) I was doing what I said (in High School) I was going to do. 2.) I wasn't working a desk job 3.) I'm in better shape now than I was then. The point is, make the most of where you are, not where you'd like to be. . .

. . . that, and between luck and skill, I'll take luck.

There's a lot about this guy's story that doesn't entirely add up. Even with top-of-the-line equipment, I can't imagine selling an entire DJ business for $2.5M. . . there again, I'm not an expert, but still.

I dunno; the single largest transfer of wealth in the history of the world has begun, and given that, the asshattery and douschebaggery will probably ensue at a fever pitch for the next 10-20 years. Good luck.

Good for him at being successful. Some guys are good at that thing and happy with it. I'd rather be me than him any day and have what I have more than what he has any day.

No its not so much that he made money, its the fact that hes such an ass and still hasnt gotten served yet. Also, it wasnt just two turntables and a microphone, he had an insane amount of speakers, lights, projection screens, smoke machines, etc. I think he might have had people working under him so he could work a handful of parties every weekend. And it is true, id rather drive a metro and be me than drive a murcialago and be him.

I see what you mean. His attitude may never change either. Like I said, it depends on what you value. He may even eventually hook up with a hot rich supermodel too. Eventually she'll screw around on him and divorce him and take his kids and the money and he'll probably think he's so great......

Something doesn't add up unless he owned a staging company or had a trust fund
