Ever wondered what a complete iceberg looks like?
Hi guys. I think I can clear this up. This image is fake, but the dimensions are correct. The top of the pic is real, the bottom is computer generated using some sort of scanning device that bounces off of the ice and relays it back to a computer in real time. I used to work for a graphic design firm and I remember reading a detailed description of how it was done. Can't remember the company name, but they made the pic to sell that particular product. I'm almost certain this is the exact pic.

Don't any of you guys fly?? Every airplane "skymall" or whatever magazine has an ad for this motivational poster with this image on it.
I seriously doubt the bottom of the berg represents reality, especially because icebergs typically roll as they melt. This happens because they melt quicker under water than below water, and they melt quicker near the surface than the bottom (heat rises, and the sun heats the water surface.)
If you look at the part of this picture where the berg is above water, on the right side you can see that it has already started to roll and the ridges you see there are a result of the melting ice previously under the surface. However, you see no evidence of this type of melting under the water. hmmm...
Also, the large cavity in the center of the berg makes no sense. Icebergs come from large BLOCKS of ice that fall off of a glacier. Those blocks are generally square. Exactly how and why would a cavity melt into the middle of such a block? If the bugger is going to melt, it will happen from the outside in, not from the inside out! hmmm...
It's BS kids!!!! The top is a picture, the bottom is art. The image typically has some motivational phrase under it!

While it IS a beautiful picture, it's just that...not a PHOTO, just a picture, as in artist's rendering.
Yea, just go to Successories...they have plenty of these images on their motivational posters.

Margaritas anyone? What size blender you you need?
It is prortionally correct even if doctored. The reason they are so dangerous is that as the top melts and breaks away they tend to roll over like a boulder going down hill. If you are anywhere withen a few miles of it you are screwed.
