Hmmm... that one's kinda crappy. Duetto has a little nicer one. http://home.flash.net/~duetto/start.htm But many Miata people just use a plain red industrial button...

BTW, the guy who was trying to put an S2k button in his miata hasn't gotten it working yet. He needed a SPDT relay to make it work and couldn't find one.

I'll have an S2000 button on order by friday. I have a ton of relays laying around

Hey remember when cell phones cost a fortune and the rice folks would put those fake antennas on their cars.
Maybe someone should market a fake start button. If the guy's slick enough, the date might not notice the key turning while the button is pressed.

I have a question re: the installation of one of these. Say RevLimiter, you put one on your Miata, which it sounds like you are doing...what happens when you turn the key to where it normally starts the car? Does that still start the motor? Or is that somehow disabled...?

No big deal, I'm just curious...

Greg,

It depends on how you wire it. You can still have the start capabilities if you do a full turn. . .or you can make the live ignition wire connect at jst the start button.

In my Prelude, I took out the tumblers out of the ignition, re-wired the whole ignition system, and instead of a S2K switch. . .I wired in a NASCAR rocker switch.

Now when I jump in the car, to turn the car on, all I gotta do is click on my fogs, click on my left hand blinker, and rocker the rocker switch until it fires up. No key needed!!!
