Default EVO VII information - seems like solid information....

Hey Funcar and like.... here is some EVO VII information. Supposedly (according to this guy), mitsu is NOT bringing us the EVO VII (which some suspected), and that RaliART (big name in the UK) is going to do what Motorex did and crash test 3 cars and then start selling them..... $40k seems a bit steep, but.... it should be an awesome piece of machinery...

Scot - i can sell my S2000 and my Type R and have a few $ left for some stickers

Mr. Burner,
I have received confirmation from Ralliart that the last day a deposit on LHD
EVO VII will be accepted is July 6th. This will end production for LHD EVO VII
for the year. A 10% deposit will be required from you before that date if you
intend to purchase an EVO VII USA spec with full Federalization with full
payment required within 7 days after your car has arrived. Price will be
39,950. Please keep me posted about events affecting this purchase or at the
very least contact me to inform me you or your clients are no long interested
so I may remove your contact name from the current customer list. Please feel
free to contact me regarding this matter.

$40K for the EVO VII is not 2 bad at all.. considering the price in hk and japan is almost the same, maybe a little bit more..

yes, similar to the Skyline's, it would be USA Legal, and Left Hand drive to boot!

There are some "kit car" used EVO VI's around attempting to be sold for $45k with questionable legal registrations, so i guess $40k seems ok.....

Check out the AYC ... Spectacular, but I'm not buying any MMC vehicles even if it was faster than an NSX. It's still a Lancer after all, think about it ... Just think about it. You should see how many used evos you can find all over Japan almost after 6 months or something. They're really not that great over there.

I was hopping for 30 something not 40 something.
Wasn't it suppose to be like $27k?
And it will still be a grey market car, right?
Maybe I should rethink the Mini?

Hmm-

A couple of buddies and I are getting an Evo VII RS w/big turbo for beating around on in Hong Kong- HK$270K out the door, which is alot cheaper than new Preludes USED to be. It should be good fun to drive against my other friend's new WRX STi RA (oval lights, 6 speed trans, Brembos). Good car for beating on for about a year- then you'd better sell it. Lancers are well known for falling apart fairly quickly. Let's face it- it's a seriously factory hopped up economy car, and it really has no panache to speak of- a good street fighter, but not a car I would want to be "seen" in.

Hehe...

That's for me to know and for you to find out!

Seriously though, we've been looking for about two months- the "car center" place at Kai Tak had many Evo VIIs there for about HK$300K, so eventually competition took it's toll (you know how HK is). Goofing off on the go karts then looking at cars- I can't think of a better way to spend a Sunday...

I wouldn't be surprised if we could find it for HK$270K now...
