EVO VII information - seems like solid information....
WOW!
Michael sure doesn't like to "deal"...
He offered me a Evo VI RSII a couple of years ago for $340K, but that was when everyone else was at $20K over that price... I've known him for a few years- since late '92...
There are others there- my friend bought his Subaru from Michael in December, I think, but he's been buying cars from ProMax forever.
If you're ever in HK when I'm there you should come out with us- we're pretty much the BMWOCHK group- plus the Elise Club...

but I heard that STi is gonna be about 30K.... then I believe EVO IV will no longer in competitiopn with STi after STi gets in... My friend was supprised with the price 40K... cuz... he is waiting for EVO 7 for a while... and expect to pay about 30K... After I told him that.... he told me... with 40K, he prefer a used GT-R.
Geez Nick.. sounds like the rough life eh!
I don't care about being *seen* in anything, i just like stuff that goes fast, and I though the EVO's were all about that.? Don't they have 3 year warranties (meaning...it should stay together for at least 3 years?)

Guys Guys. I know you all love the Stook for its driving capabilities, then you have to apreciate the EVO V Vi and VII! We all know that Mitsu can't keep with honda in reliability but who can for that money and a blown four with that much power? Give credit where credit is due.
Secondly in the UK the EVO VII is estimated to retail at 30,000 pounds (circa $45,000 US) so $40K (before tax) is a fair deal.
Plus official European Ralliart Imports are better equiped (i.e. Titanium turbo) than the Japanese Greys that make it to Europe.
If Ralliart set up shop in the US and Canada we should all be thankful.

Hey BB AP1-
Drop me an email a couple of weeks before you go...
Hi Scot-
Unfortunately, the Lancer is more ugly than what I'm usually used to... My limit to what I'll put up with, in terms of looks, on a daily basis is the Integra Type R. And besides- I did say that the Evo was for beating on vs. the STi. It's no fun to race an STi with another car from a different class- racing cars from the same category makes it fun- you should see how out classed the Elise is on the highways, and how badly the 355 gets it's head kicked in on the twisty stuff vs. superior competition. But why would you settle for a car that has a poor reliablity record? The Lancer Evo series are notorious for their habitual problems with the motor, especially when modified. I like cars that go fast too- but not complex econoboxes that don't last. For my money there are other cars that I would rather buy and keep, as opposed to buying and ditching after a year or two...
Oh- and performance cars that come in Hong Kong via grey market importers have a great warrantee- until something breaks.
NS2000X-
The car we are interested in getting has the "bigger" titanium turbo- and no AYC.
RalliArt has set up shop in the US- HKS USA is the official RalliArt USA distributor. Jun Toyoda (President of HKS USA) is good friends with the RalliArt people. Kind of ironic that the best known shop for Lancer rallying in the US (TAD in Lake Zurich, IL) has to get their race parts from someone else... and that RalliArt wouldn't let them be the US distributor. As far as I'm concerned, that tells me RalliArt isn't in the US for the racing- very strange for a performance company, especially since HKS USA has no idea what RalliArt parts are all about, and TAD does. And trust me on this- HKS USA barely knows it's own product line- the only guy I trusted there was headhunted away from them few years ago...

EVO 7 RS will open up the biggest can of whoopass on a WRX STi RA. I have seen it, it isn't even close. In fact, the RS is so fast, it can keep up with the Skyline GTR on a racetrack. I mean it is stupid fast. RS runs the 1/4 in 12.9 seconds, the STi RA does it in about 13.6 seconds.
As for the price, an RS costs $25,500US in Japan, the GSR is a little more, about $28,000US because of more luxurious specification.
