These are grey importers. I don't think they come with warrenty. One of the local Mistu dealership called me one day, he claimed that EVO VII is coming in 14 months. So, god knows if that is true or not.

Here's an article I read...

The article is long and boring, didn't like the fact that Mitsu is still sharing technology with Chrysler but Yes it is confirmed Lancer Evolution is coming as a 2003 model to US, from Mitsu President himself.

"Mitsubishi has launched three new models this fiscal year, and will launch eight new models next fiscal year and five new ones the following year, for a total of 16. Thirteen of those will go on sale in Japan. How many will be launched in the U.S. market each year?

In the U.S., we had the Lancer this year. Next year, Airtrek and Lancer Evolution. And then in fiscal 2003, there will be three models."

Here's the link to the article if you want to read it.

It's all in the article, the only changes that will occur are to comply with US regulations. It took this long to work out intercooler / 5mph bumper business. Otherwise, EVO VII, the real deal, in last quarter of 2002.

The Western Regional Credit Manager of Mitsubishi USA is a classmate of mine and he swears that Evos are coming. Unfortunately he also swears they will be the fastest production car in the USA. He is definitely not a car nut so he beleives whatever marketing crap someone tells him. The guys gets sweetheart deals on any Mitsu and he must exchange cars every 2 years or 15,000 miles and he chooses a base model Mirage to cruise around in?!?!
