....i have been reading many posts about how fast Evo is and that....

but, in my opinion....when i was looking for new car, not too long ago...after i sold my modded type R,
I went to test drive EVO 8 and the dealer let me do whatever i wanted.

i really didnt think Evo was all that. it didnt even felt all that fast to me. it seem like my Toda setup R was faster during low~mid range.

i could be wrong and i know Evo are indeed fast but that is just my opinion.

but yeah i think Evo is beter all around car. since it has 4 dr and you can carry more stuff around.

haha.

LOL, we raced our EVO and S together one night....from a roll of course . I lost by a car length and I still got the jump on him. It is faster but they are close

Just saw this thread........my 2 cents:

I've owned my S2000 for the last 2 years or so and picked up an Evo a few weeks ago. I still own the S2000 and plan to keep it for a long time(weekend car). Anyway, my own opinion on the cars:

S2000 pro's:
-The shifter in the S is just plain awesome. After getting out of the Evo and driving my S, the S brings a to my face everytime I shift through each gear. Shifting is so effortless in the S.
-Looks: The S2000 is definitely more "stylish" than the Evo and the S2000 definitely gets more attention from girls. In the short time owning the Evo and in my own view, it tends to get more comments and attention from guys. I've gotten more people revving on me in the past 3 weeks in the Evo than I've ever had in the S2000. Both cars are head turners though.
-Convertible: Nice sunny day, nuff said....
-9,000 rpm's to play with
-Steering is tighter on the S. Less body roll.
-Easier to toss around(could be good, could be bad ). I've only auto-x'd the Evo once, but it's more fun to auto-x the S2000 imo.
-Build quality seems better in the S2000.
-Driving the S gives more of that sporty feeling.
-I know the Evo has Brembo brakes(which of course aren't bad), but I like the feel in the S2000's brakes better.

S2000 con's:
-Where's the torque? The lack of torque never really bothered me until I drove the Evo around. That doesn't make the S slow though. The Evo just feels faster.
-The obvious stuff........not much room to haul people/things.

To be honest, I really don't have too many cons about the S2000.

Evo pro's:
-Turbo!!! This is my first turbo'd car ever. The feel and sound of the turbo spooling up is great. The power puts you back in the seat.
-Handling is very quick and steering is fast/sensitive. Sometimes, maybe a little too sensitive. It's not as tight as the S2000, but this car is no slouch in the handling dept. The Evo is more forgiving at the limit.
-More room
-Love the recaro's(S2000 has great seats also)
-Aftermarket
-All wheel drive

Evo con's:
-Some people may disagree, but the top end on the Evo sucks. After about 5,500 rpm's, the car really loses it's "umph" From 3-5,000 is the car's sweet spot though.
-Clutch: Although I've gotten used to it, I really dislike the clutch in the Evo. It has that "mushy" feeling to it.
-Shifter: Just put in a short shift today.........although it's better, it still doesn't match up to the S.
-During my last auto-x, although the car handles great, I noticed the car had tons and tons of body roll.
-Gas mileage sucks.
-Very bouncy and rough ride. The S2000's ride isn't smooth as silk either. Someone who's used to the smooth ride of say a luxury car, will probably get annoyed by the harsh ride. I tend to like the "rough, sporty" ride though.

Both cars are great in their own ways. Very different cars to compare. Of course, some of the con's in both cars can be fixed with a few mods. Such as with the Evo, I have a turboback, MBC, intake coming in and plan to get the ECU reflashed.........that should fix the top end complaint

My comparison is my own opinion and stock for stock Test drive both cars and see which one is best for you

Sounds about right Brian...BTW we should have our turboback this week as well. But I think Peter is going with an electronic boost controller.
